So, in the fishing village of Marbella, Spain on the famous Costa del Sol an Italian guy from Parma Italy like in the cheese opened a chic restaurant for the jet-set - and his name was Paolo he had an older gay guy partner and they opened the 'Don Leone Restaurant', some people came for the drinks, some for the ambience' .. I came for the chef.. food was good and it was the liveliest place in Marbella a real - hot spot, sexy, you name it !! Then he opened in the Puerto Banus, and Menchu Escobar the Queen of the night and the best night club person moved her bar there too so then - Paolo opened - La Meridiana behind the Mosque and then his Disco Bar called "La Note" that cost 5 million bucks to open in early 80's money!! Menchu went to work there!! In the 1970s he had an older man friend from New Orleans as his partner. Lewis Kerner. He , Lewis put up the money for the original place. Paolo said to me years later that he was surprised that Lewis didn't push him off a cliff for stealing it from him.. but it was all Paolo doing the work, and it took a lot. He had will power to do it. He made a lot of money, he was the Star chef and was a good one .. He started out as a waiter at 15 in Rome and then met Lewis and brought him to Marbella, Spain and they opened up Don Leone .. it was great you, never knew, who you would see there .. I remember, Rex Reed and his boyfriend with the same checked shirt on like two gay twins.. royal types were in there .. Pourquoi because of Paolo, it was a place where the stars eat. I remember when we all went out to the famous matador Luis Miguel Dominguin's ranch who had been with a string of women like Lauren Bacall, Rita Hayworth, and was friends with Hemingway. Pablo Picasso designed his costume for the bull ring .. and his son was Miguel Bose a pop singer in Spain.. We all went to Pedro Domecq winery once too..
